Kape ni Maman

Ingredients:
  • 1-3/4 tsp white sugar
  • 3 tsps creamer
  • 2/3 tsp instant coffee powder
  • freshly boiled water

Procedure:
  1. In a coffee mug put the first-three ingredients. Mix until blended.
  2. Pour hot water. Stir.
  3. Serve immediately.

Dark Chocolate Mint

Here's how:
  • In a pan, melt a cup of cream and 2/3 cup of dark chocolate morsels over low heat. Stir until smooth and creamy. Add a teaspoon of vanilla essence, half a teaspoon peppermint flavoring. and 1/4 tsp of fine salt. Set aside.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat 3/4 cup cream until stiff. Add the chocolate mixture and beat until peaks form.
  • Spoon into individual cups and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  • Chill until ready to serve.

Fruity Water

Add wedges of fruit in your cold drinking water. Use a medley of citrus fruits like oranges, lemons and dalandan or use a combination of melons and watermelons. The fruits do not only add color, they also infuse the water with vitamins and a healthy sweetness.

No-Fuss Sangria

Ingredients:
  • 2 green apples, cored and sliced into bite-size piecs
  • 2 oranges, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 quart pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1 quart orange juice, chilled
  • 1 bottle red wine, chilled
  • simple syrup (Equal parts of sugar and water. Boiled for a few minutes)

Procedure:
  1. Place the fruit slices in a pitcher.
  2. Pour in the pineapple juice, orange juice and red wine.
  3. Add in the simple syrup to taste. Stir.
  4. Pour into glasses, add ice cubes if desired and serve.
